SESSIONS D'ART VISUEL

The artist crafts images as if glimpsed at the boundary between reality and myth, awakening a long-forgotten yet undying breath of light. The pigment, applied dry, does not merely rest upon the paper’s surface; it seems to grow into it—like a natural trace etched in stone, like a voice lost within the whisper of the wind. There are no sharp lines here, no literal forms—only an inner light, always muted yet never extinguished. Each image is like a discovered prayer from an ancient world where Beauty was still Law. Where Beauty is not only outward, but also an inner, spiritual radiance, manifesting itself in nature, in humanity, in actions, even in speech.

à propos

Kristina Mariinskaya was born in 1996 in Odesa, lives and works between Paris and Biarritz. In her early years, she received a classical education at the art academy in her hometown and immersed herself in the study of Renaissance techniques, particularly sfumato, while traveling through various corners of Italy. Upon arriving in France, Kristina adopted traditional botanical methods under the guidance of the French master Vincent Jeannerot. Later, she graduated from the innovative Parisian art school ENDA, where she was introduced to non-visual technologies and new forms of perception in art.

In her artistic practice, Kristina has chosen natural dry pigment as her primary medium. Its raw, elemental quality allows her to convey a sense of timelessness — the state she seeks to invoke in her work. to heighten this feeling, Kristina intentionally ages the paper, transforming it into a surface that bears the imprint of centuries. This is not merely a background, but a metaphor for time itself: ancient skin that has lived through the ages, absorbing what is eternal and true — what has been with us since the beginning.
