ABOUT
Kristina Mariinskaya was born in 1996 in Odesa, lives and works between Paris and Biarritz. In her early years, she received a classical education at the art academy in her hometown and immersed herself in the study of Renaissance techniques, particularly sfumato, while traveling through various corners of Italy. Upon arriving in France, Kristina adopted traditional botanical methods under the guidance of the French master Vincent Jeannerot. Later, she graduated from the innovative Parisian art school ENDA, where she was introduced to non-visual technologies and new forms of perception in art.

At the same time, Kristina entered a profound process of exploration — both scientific and metaphysical. She turned to philosophical systems, biological structures of life, and ancient traditions and texts, seeking to understand how the world is constructed on both material and spiritual levels. Her discoveries led her to a realization: all living forms carry within them a shared primordial code, within which Light shines — a Beauty invisible to the eye, yet seen by the heart. This is the very Beauty the Navajo people called the state of being in harmony with all things, a form of Light that becomes visible when the world returns to its true state.
In her artistic practice, Kristina has chosen natural dry pigment as her primary medium. Its raw, elemental quality allows her to convey a sense of timelessness — the state she seeks to invoke in her work. to heighten this feeling, Kristina intentionally ages the paper, transforming it into a surface that bears the imprint of centuries. This is not merely a background, but a metaphor for time itself: ancient skin that has lived through the ages, absorbing what is eternal and true — what has been with us since the beginning.

The work resembles a scroll — a relic of the past in which paper becomes a living body. Upon it, she applies the technique of sfumato, soft and smoky — like the breath of a dream, enveloping forms without sharpness, with translucent ambiguity. Dry pigment amplifies this effect: it evokes the dust of ancient light, the scattered traces of vanished eras. Here, form is not a boundary, but a breath — not a fixed line, but a dance of life continuing through infinity.

Kristina, like an archaeologist of the spirit, gently lifts from the dust of centuries what was forgotten but never lost — knowledge that pulses through the very fabric of existence.
Her works do not look at us — they remember us.
And in doing so, they return to us a long-forgotten sense of unity,
when Beauty was the air we breathed.
“Beauty is wholeness.
When every step, every word, every gesture is part of the flow of life.”
